I've had that happen twice recently, causing me to miss a bunch of emails (i had to read through the archive).

i'd guess what they did here might fix it:

frickin annoying. i'm setting "munge from" temporarily to see what
happens. really don't like the idea of tampering with messages.

I can confirm this bug.  The record shows that this occurred for me on:

I have only responded on the two most recent occasions, both in 2022.

I didn't know what the source of the bounces was till I read the linked page that Jacob posted.  I haven't refused delivery of any messages from this list and I haven't even cast any aspersions (marked a message as "spam", etc.) so I was rather surprised!  It seems that google mail has some algorithm that is bouncing messages on my behalf.  I wish that I had some control over that!  I guess the control I have would be to switch my list address to a different mail server.
